South African legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis has been appointed as the batting consultant of the England cricket team ahead of their tour to Sri Lanka. According to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), seven coaches will join the squad for the two-Test tour, with the tour party departing on 2 January.
Kallis, is the only cricketer in the history of the game to score more than 10,000 runs and take over 250 wickets in both ODI and Test match cricket; he also took 131 ODI catches. He scored 13,289 runs in his Test match career and took 292 wickets and 200 catches
Kallis, who retired from Test cricket in 2014, has performed coaching roles with various teams. Notably, he was South Africa’s batting coach during the 2019/20 season when England visited.
