Norwalk Boys Basketball Seniors Leave Legacy as Larson's Final Group | KNIA KRLS Radio

The Norwalk boys basketball team didn’t have quite as much talent on this year’s roster as in years past, but they will be remembered. This group led the Warriors through a pandemic season, and the program’s first Class 4A postseason victory. Head Coach Chris Larson says they’ll be remembered for what they brought to the table.

Pella Christian Hosting Norwalk in Conference Round Two Opener

The second round of the Little Hawkeye Conference basketball season begins tonight on Eagle Lane as Pella Christian welcomes Norwalk. The Warriors’ swept the Eagles on December 4th with a 52-50 4th quarter comeback in the girls game for Norwalk and 79-56 domination over Pella Christian. Warriors Head Coach Jill Martin says her team is playing well, and the focus needs to be on what they’re doing, as opposed to focusing on the opponent. “All of our conference games are tough. You’ve got to be prepared and do your job. We had a great, competitive game, only won by two last time, and we need to make some adjustments. ‘Be us’ is the big part.”

Norwalk Girls Edged by Titans, Warrior Boys Roll past Lewis Central

The Norwalk basketball teams hosted their penultimate doubleheader of 2020 Tuesday evening as Council Bluffs Lewis Central visited for a non-conference tilt. The Norwalk girls lost another down to the wire finish by a 46-44 final, while the boys rolled past the Titans 61-40, as aired live on 94.3 KNIA. The Norwalk girls started strong, but allowed Lewis Central to remain within striking distance for much of the first half. A late second quarter run by the Titans tied the game at 18 heading into halftime. Norwalk fell behind in the third quarter, but fought back in the fourth and tied the game in the closing minutes. The Warriors trailed with under 10 seconds to play with a chance to tie with a 2, but a good look missed at the buzzer, and the Warriors lost yet another close game. Head Coach Jill Martin says she and the team need to figure out how to put together a complete, 32-minute game.
