It is planned to progress work on introducing a bring bank facility to Cliffoney in 2021.
Cllr Marie Casserly tabled a motion seeking an update on the issue having previously raised it with the council.
Acting Director of Services Emer Concannon said that it is proposed to liaise with the area engineer in the coming months on whether there are public lands in a suitable location for such a facility.
In the absence of a suitable site in public ownership, a private piece of property would have to be identified and discussions take place with the owner to seek permission to have a bring bank on the site.
