Cllr Alan Hunter was officially sworn in on Monday, May 17. Mr Hunter said: On May 17 at the Abergele Town Council AGM, my fellow councillors agreed unanimously to my staying in post as mayor. The last year was shared between cllr Shirley Jones-Roberts who was the previous mayor and who kindly stayed in post for 18 months. The previous six months of my tenure have been difficult due to the restrictions of lockdown however, I am really hoping that we can get out and about to support the many clubs, organisations, schools and businesses in our area. Cllr Hunter s wife Cheryl will continue as mayoress.
