bet against. game stop and amc may be in the headlines, but the question this morning, is the stock market as the whole a gigantic bubble that s just waiting to pop? it s way too early for this. good morning! and welcome to way too early, the show that never bets against the little guy. i am kasie hunt on this thursday, january 28th. we will start with the news. more than three weeks after the deadly riot at the capitol, the department of homeland security has issued a national terrorism advisory, warning of a, quote, heightened threat environment across the united states. the alert that went out yesterday didn t have any information related to a specific, credible plot, but said motivation for a possible attack could include anger over the presidential transition as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives. it s a clear reference to the false voter fraud allegations that have been pushed by former president trump. an intelligence official involve

i will participate in that and i plan to listen to the evidence. that was senator mitch mcconnell in 2019 ahead of trump s first impeachment trial. compared to what he said yesterday ahead of trump s second impeachment trial. he might vote to quit but he is pretending to be impartial this time around. you can say that at least. good morning. welcome to morning joe . it is thursday, january 28th. we have jonathan lemire. founder of the conservative website the bulwark and author of how the right lost its mind, charlie sacks is with us, msnbc contributor. good to have you both. you know, though, willie, about mitch, regarding mitch, he s been trying since january 6th actually, he s been trying since after the president s election and before january 6th to drag his conference along with it. what did he say? do not contest the electors. this will end very badly for us. mitch warned us. he warned america. josh hawley was too good, too smart, little bird-handed okay.

doing here. that s work that is going to be necessary to rebuild our infrastructure which is also one of the biggest opportunities we have for job growth moving forward. what you may hear from some corners of criticism is why are we doing this now when we re already in an economic crisis. you look at new mexico where one state is funded by oil and gas. why not let the country get back on its feet before we do this? the issue in new mexico is that somebody reported a bit incorrectly or maybe not as precisely enough that this wasn t about impacting existing permits and fracking. this was about new leases on federal lands. it s an opportunity in the revuf that program to look at the royalty issues, look at the job growth opportunities. look at a variety of things to make sure that public lands are being properly managed. in terms of job issue, we re doing this because our economy is right now stagnant. we have millions of people out of work, out of jobs. millions of people t

joining us this hour. here s an interesting thing. sort of a personal thing, but also a news thing. right before president trump was impeached the first time, i published a book called blow out and the weird surprising to me thing about blow out is that tended up being oddly well timed. i had no idea it was going to be well timed when i set out to write it, but that s how it landed. it was a book about the oil and gas industry and the political power and geopolitical power of that industry. and a big chunk of that book was about all of the craziness and corruption in ukraine. and of course, then, right at the time the book came out, all the craziness and corruption in ukraine ended up being the setting, like the playing field for what president trump got impeached for the first time he got impeached. i did not intend it to land that way. it was fortuitous and i hope helpful to people trying to figure out that landscape while we were looking at that first impeachment. now,

well timed. that is how it landed. a book about the oil and gas industry and a big chunk of the book was about the craziness and the corruption in the ukraine. then it was the playing field. i didn t intend it to land it that way. well, now of course mr. trump is being impeached for a second time. and it is kind of uncanny, a lot of the things that i wrote about in the book that came out in the first trump impeachment. the whole reason that i wrote the book is because we were consistently underestimating the sway of this one industry. how much sway it has over politicals and governments here and around the world. i thought there was a need for a explainer and how the industry could explain. if something is happening that does not make sense on the surface it helps to look at the industry and see if they are maybe the hidden hand, when politics fail or governments are bad. this is a place to look. one thing to say here is the hidden power that is making it possible or impossib
