The Minnesota Twins placed right-hander Kenta Maeda on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a groin strain.
Maeda, who initially battled groin tightness in his May 16 start against the Oakland Athletics, left Saturday s 5-3, 10-inning loss to the Cleveland Indians after the fifth inning due to the same issue.
The Twins have called up shortstop Nick Gordon from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.
In nine starts this season, Maeda is 2-2 with a 5.27 ERA. The 33-year-old finished second to the Cleveland Indians Shane Bieber in voting for the AL Cy Award last year after finishing 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 11 starts.
Jacob deGrom did it on the mound (15 strikeouts, no runs allowed) and at the plate (two hits) as his amazin start to the season for the Mets continued Friday night with a 6-0 win against the Nationals.
We had breaking news Thursday night: Joe Biden is proud of his son Hunter.
After a blackout on the Hunter Biden scandal before the election, it often seems like the media is struggling to offer the appearance of coverage without actually asking questions that could be damaging for the president-elect.
That view of many was reinforced in the first interview with Biden about his son since the November election. It was conducted by CBS Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Biden has refused to answer questions on the expanding scandal surrounding his son s China connections so this was a big deal. However, the president-elect s team arranged for the all-important question to be asked by a comedian on a late-night show.

New York – Chicago Cubs right-hander Yu Darvish was named as one of the five starting pitchers on the All-MLB first team on Wednesday after missing out on the National League Cy Young Award last month.
