WADDINGTON â Clark House Preservation Inc. is hoping to continue improvements to the Clark House with help from the community. The Clark House, originally built in 1893, was one of the two original hotels in the village when it was the industrial center of St. Lawrence County. It now serves as a marketplace at the center of the villageâs Main Street. In the late 1990s, the Clark House sat vacant for a number of years. The village Board of Trustees wanted to demolish it because they felt it was a safety hazard, but instead, the Clark House Preservation Inc. was created in 1997 to restore the building. ....

(WWNY) - In Waddington, theyâre building on the past. Proponents say the historic preservation projects are giving the river town a brighter future. Restorations and renovations are taking place all over town. The Clark House is raising funds for a historically authentic ceiling and the Waddington First Presbyterian Church is getting crucial renovations. âPeople that now live here see that Waddington can be brought back. And I believe thatâs why all of these projects are taking place,â said Robert Smith, First Presbyterian building manager. ....
WADDINGTON â Town Supervisor Alex V. Hammond has announced he will be running for re-election this fall. Mr. Hammond, who announced his intent to run again in a news release Sunday night, was first elected to the town supervisor position in 2017 at the age of 21. He became the youngest town supervisor in New York state. He will be seeking the Democratic and Independence Party lines on the ballot this fall. In addition to serving as town supervisor, Mr. Hammond is a member of the United Way of Northern New York Board of Directors, appointee of the SUNY Potsdam College Council, a member of the Friends of the Waddington Hepburn Library, a member of the Clark House Preservation Inc. Board of Directors and a member of the American Legion Post 420. ....
