DOVETAILING is a collaborative art project between sculptor Juliet Gutch and filmmaker Clare Dearnaley, both from Ilkley. The artists are working with renowned composer Sally Beamish. Developed remotely over lockdown, Dovetailing will be exhibited at Farfield Meeting House from June 14 - 27 as an installation of sculpture, music and film. The exhibition is inspired by luthiery, the term for making stringed musical instruments. From the tree to the selection of the wood, through to the crafting of forms and the playing of the instrument, Dovetailing gently considers how musical sound emerges out of a partnership between nature and quiet human care.
