Call for public not to make unnecessary journeys after concerns at Wrexham parks

MEMBERS of the public have been urged to avoid making unnecessary journeys for exercise or shopping. The call comes after North Wales Police s Wrexham town team stated over the weekend that officers are finding high numbers of vehicles still arriving to places like Erddig, Acton and other local parks. Sgt Claire McGrady told the Leader on Monday that overall there has been a good level of compliance with the rules in Wrexham town centre, but called on the public to minimise the risks to themselves and others. She said: This is about making sure that if you re out, you re not driving to sites for exercise. If you need an emergency service while you re away from your home, you d be calling on the resources of the police, ambulance or fire services - and while we don t want to stop people from exercising, we do want to minimise the distances people are travelling.
