THE Iloilo City Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) provides educational assistance of P5,000 per semester for persons with disabilities (PWDs) college students. The scholarship is offered to PWD students enrolled in any college course at accredited public or private universities in Iloilo City who have not had a failing mark in any subject. Up to 20 students can be accommodated each semester. PDAO has provided educational aid to 18 students for the first semester this year; 16 in 2022; 17 in 2020 and 2021; and 11 in 2019. The scholars are enrolled in different colleges, and some have already graduated, which will give them good employment opportunities. This initiative is under the Wheels program, where education is given importance, PDAO officer in charge Eleanor Gregorio said.
