Officials give nod to tourism funds | News, Sports, Jobs

JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Board of Supervisors on Monday authorized county expenditures for area tourism. Board action came during the monthly session, which was live streamed via Zoom to the public. “Maybe we can be in person for our March meeting,” said county Administrative Officer Jon Stead. “That’s certainly our goal.” The board passed a resolution directing County Treasurer Terry Blodgett to remit $61,807 in a county matching funds allocation for the 2021 “I Love NY” Tourism Grant to the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce. The allocation is effective immediately. The chamber received notification from the state it may not allocate 2021 tourism funds, so the chamber is counting on the county share to promote local tourism.

County authorizes contracts | News, Sports, Jobs

manich@leaderherald.com JOHNSTOWN Fulton County supervisors recently authorized $16,000 worth of contracts with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and Citizens in Community Services for Raise the Age Law services. County Administrative Officer Jon Stead told the Board of Supervisors’ Public Safety Committee that Fulton County’s RTA contract was “finally” approved by New York state after a protracted delay. Two contracts had to be resubmitted for approval because the county wasn’t sure if the state was going to approve RTA contracts for 2021. The contracts are an $11,000 contract with the office of District Attorney Chad Brown and a $5,000 contract with Citizens in Community Service.
