Bone marrow registration drive honors Alexandria school employee

Organizers said Hughes has already received her bone marrow match, and that they are encouraging people to sign up to donate to others still in need. Donors must be ages 18-44, based on medical research that shows younger donors are best for patients and provide the greatest chance for transplant success.

Hughes developed case scenarios of WIC families that included a variety of WIC-related issues and topics that she counsels every day and presented them to Franke. Franke communicated the case scenarios with WVWC nursing students and they met independently in small groups through Zoom to discuss and problem solve their family scenarios.
