Christopher Fonde, of Sarasota, never imagined a software program designed to help people collect unemployment benefits would leave him without a dime six weeks after he filed for benefits with the Department of Economic Opportunity.
The 62-year-old software analyst lost his full-time job with Jackson Hewitt last year because of COVID-19.
