And threaten richmond possibly even take it. By threatening Richmond Lee will be forced to react. And will weaken his defenses at Petersburg And Grant can break through. So end of july he tries this and he sends a core over at first deep bottom call a battle of first deep bottom they attack and its unsuccessful.
