The Foresters broke the game open with four runs in the seventh inning. Stephen Zobac led off with a double and Jared Thomas followed with a triple. Higgins drove in Thomas with his second hit of the game. Josh Stinson and Seth Stephenson each singled before Andrew Kachel hit a two-run single with two outs.
Christian Delashmit started for the Foresters. He allowed one run on five hits and six walks, while striking out six in 4.1 innings. Cooper Randall and Connor Roberts finished out the game, combining for six strikeouts. The Riptide stranded 14 baserunners against the Forester pitchers.

“We got an outstanding performance from Delly, he was getting ahead of batters, strike one on a majority of them,” manager Bill Pintard told SBforesters.org. “He went six and could have gone even further.”
Brandon Beckel allowed a run and a hit in one inning of relief and Gabriel Starks pitched two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks.
The Foresters had 10 hits off three Conejo pitchers, led by Andrew Kachel, Zobac and Ryan Wrobleski with two hits apiece. Zobac and O’Tremba each had two RBI.
The Foresters are home for the next three days. They play the San Francisco Seals on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m., and host the Ventura Pirates on Sunday, the Fourth of July, at 2 p.m.

The score remained 1-0 until the fifth inning when Cal State Fullerton s Austin Schell doubled to drive in run for a 2-0 Blues lead.
The Foresters biggest chance to score came in the bottom of the fifth, when they loaded the bases with two outs. But they were unable to take advantage.
After a throwing error but runners on second and third for the Blues in the seventh, Illinois State’s Ryan Cermak blasted a homer over the center-field fence to extend the lead to 5-0.
The Blues pitching held the high-powered Santa Barbara offense to just four hits and struck out 13 Foresters. Sox struck out eight in 4.2 innings.
