Why Bolton Wanderers' new chief executive Neil Hart could be key summer signing

Wanderers new chief executive Neil Hart OTHER summer signings may have got pulses racing quicker at Wanderers – but the installation of a new chief executive in Neil Hart yesterday may just prove one of the more important news flashes of the season. It is approaching two years since Football Ventures completed their takeover at the University of Bolton Stadium and began the formidable task of rebuilding a club which had effectively been stripped for parts by previous ownership and a difficult administration. Establishing a managerial hierarchy was one of the first targets – but Sharon Brittan and Co could hardly have predicted at the time that relegation to League Two would then be accompanied by a global pandemic, testing even the strongest football clubs’ resolve.

Monroe County School Board approves summer school plan

AMORY – The Monroe County School Board approved tentative plans for summer school during its May 11 meeting. The Monroe County School District will begin its summer term June 7, which continues through June 25. “We will have school from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Mondays through Fridays during that period. We will serve breakfast, as well as a take-home lunch when students depart,” said assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction Billy Tacker. In other business, Monroe County Superintendent of Education Brian Jernigan said the district is receiving almost $10,000 in federal aid through Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds to help remedial education for students who have fallen behind during disruptions caused by the pandemic.
