8 Swindon outdoor venues to visit from April 12

Harper s Weighbridge Bars and restaurants will once again be able to welcome people for food and drink from April 12. But this will only be allowed in their outdoor spaces until indoor locations open on or after May 17. This time round, there will be no rule that customers have to have a ‘substantial meal’ when they drink alcohol and the 10pm curfew has been scrapped. There will still be limits on social mixing. Tables are limited to six people or two households, and people will need to order, eat and drink while seated. The roadmap out of lockdown is a relief to many, particularly small hospitality businesses across the country.

State's vaccine appointment effort for Twin Cities schools leads to fiasco

State s vaccine appointment effort for Twin Cities schools leads to fiasco 8,720 doses are for metro area educators this week. Author: Minnesota s plan to vaccinate as many teachers as supply would allow this week led to a farcical situation that resulted in some school districts missing out completely.  On Monday, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) gave every school district and charter school an allotment for a recommended number of staff they should invite to register for an appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccine this week.  On Tuesday, superintendents were instructed to wait until 6 p.m. to send an appointment registration link by email, supposedly making it a fair playing field for prioritized staff who would then need to rush to the link, register and hope to get one of the 8,720 appointments available for teachers at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul starting Thursday.
