Clemson Student-Athletes Recognized for UPIC Internship Participation

CLEMSON, S.C. – This semester, 23 Clemson student-athletes participated in the University Professional Internship and Co-op (UPIC) program, designed to provide experiences in the professional space that will assist students in their career paths both during and following their athletic career. Clemson Athletics recognized those individuals for their participation on April 14.  Of the 23 interns this spring, 17 of them were first-time UPIC interns, earning valuable education in the workforce. The six returnees were Chloe O’Brien (Rowing), Keco Morrison (Track and Field), Trishauna Hemmings (Track and Field), Maylin Lindsey (Rowing), Pepper Kolman (Rowing) and Eleonor Wright (Rowing). The Rowing program had nine participants in UPIC internships, most of any program, followed by Track and Field (six), and Volleyball (three). Men’s soccer and baseball each had two UPIC interns, and one cheerleader/rally cat held an internship in the Department of Communications.  The full list of p

Clemson Announces POWER Women's Leadership Academy – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. - Director of Athletics Graham Neff and Senior Associate AD/Senior Woman Administrator Stephanie Ellison-Johnson announced the formation of the POWER: Women’s Leadership Academy. POWER is a one-of-a-kind program for Clemson female student-athletes and believed to be one of few in the nation focusing in this area.  “We are very excited to launch our first women’s leadership academy that will provide an amazing opportunity for our young women, particularly this first cohort who have been instrumental in guiding our department in meeting the needs to empower and enhance leadership growth opportunities for women,” said Johnson. “This leadership academy would not have been possible without the generosity of our past and present Director of Athletics who has graciously provided funding to launch the program.” The women’s leadership academy is a three-pronged women’s leadership program with curriculum developed by Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Development Tor
