Throughout the night, department command staff recognized LPD employees for their work during various incidents, from communications specialists making life-saving phone calls to officers responding to homicide investigations.
Dylan Miller, 28, was federally indicted on charges of aggravated sexual abuse and kidnapping. If convicted, he faces a possible sentence of life in prison.
The department said all residents have been cooperative with investigators and, based on the investigation thus far, there is no reason to believe that a criminal offense occurred. The cause of the fire, the release added, appears to be accidental and from something electrical.
