Rehabilitation of mausoleums vital for religious tourism: PM

July 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Describing mausoleums across the country as historical heritage, Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday the rehabilitation and preservation of such places was very important for the promotion of religious tourism. He called for the formation of a comprehensive plan for the proper use of state land around the mausoleums so that the same could be utilised for hospitals and educational institutions. The Prime Minister was presiding over a meeting about the comprehensive development and management project of the mausoleum of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) and the preservation, rehabilitation and beautification of Lahore’s historic Badshahi Mosque and other mausoleums in Punjab.
