i m a member of the peace adviso advise peef advisory committee, and i just wanted to tell you a little bit about the peef president cook: sorry, tracey, i wanted to wait until miss casco started your time. go ahead. so what happened is a lot of people have been coming to the peef advisory committing and pitching us proposals that they want to see happening at school does. it can be a whole new program for immigrant students, it can be community schools. we ve had different pitches come to the peef oversight committee. we actually don t entertain new proposals. that s not part of the process, and i just wanted to share the process with board members because i m not sure that you know that that s the process? so we are a group of very qualified individuals thank you for the appointments from you guys? we have the capacity to look at other proposals if there was a process that would be opened up? and with the eraf money becoming available in addition to what s already

collaborating a district and others. they partnered with advisories groups and the family engagement team of the unified school district to host the second annual family alignment summit. this helps the cac build leadership skills and strengthens our alignment with other committees. also in november, they partnered with the african parent advisory committee to host a cafe. the cac has been able to increase outreach to parents of african-american students. on december 3, sfusd kicked off inclusive schools week. support for families with children of disabilities helped us cap off the week by sponsoring a screening of the film, intelligent lives, by dan habib. the cac will participate in a resource conference for the support of families with children with disabilities. we ll participate in a resource fair and host a panel discussion. this is a free event and all special education community members are invited to attend. on may 1st, the school district will join other cac members

have a full year of training and then a year of certification on top of that as well. from my understanding, most of our implementers of the program have taken the three-day could not thcourse,not the full-year . there s a lot more that we should be doing to fully implement. you can say that about every, single department within sfusd. but i really appreciate the concerted effort to do as much as we can with our resources. the piece that i would add, i ve been in some discussions this week with curriculum and instruction and what i have appreciated going through this process, and watching this from the start, we did not have a dyslexia pilot and we were considering adding this curriculum in and how we were going to train all of our teachers to bring people up to speed is that even though we have this where 1700 teachers have to be reached and 75 schools and all the numbers you start to look at, there have been course corrections along the way. we have seen our curriculum an

[reading of names] good evening, i m xo executive director of the united administrator of san francisco. i come before you tonight to speak on behalf of principals. one of their tasks is to facilitate school change, especially those with underachieving african-american and latino students. they bear a huge responsibility. they gladly accept that responsibility, but are often met with barriers within their school communities that hinder them from achieving that goal. often these barriers result in conflict within a school community. the most conflicts occur, it is imperative that a school community work together to resolve the issues. in the past couple of years, there has been increased theme judged and vilified in the court of public opinion with all the facts werenpresented. as a school board, we hope that there is an objective investigation. we respectfully request that principals be afforded that opportunity to te
