West Bengal police on Sunday stopped and arrested an independent fact-finding team who were en route to visit Sandeshkhali. The committee comprising former justices were arrested after they staged a protest against police for stopping them from visiting victims in Sandeshkhali.

"During Ram Navami, they did the same and stopped us because they were hiding something. I don't understand what kind of picture this state government wants to portray before the world," said a team member.
