Devon Scott Thornock, 39, pleaded not guilty to a single count of second-degree aggravated assault after being bound over for trial on Monday.
Thornock appeared in 1st District Court via video call from the Utah State Prison for a preliminary hearing, where Cache County prosecutors presented testimony from the alleged victim and a responding officer.
The alleged victim â age 55 at the time of the incident â told the court he was in a carport with friends when he bent down to pick something off the ground and received a blow to the side of the head. The alleged victim told the court he did not see who struck him or what he was hit with, but doctors confirmed âit wasnât with a fist.â According to testimony, a hammer was found on the ground and a witness to the incident confirmed Thornock as the perpetrator though the alleged victim could not positively identify him.
Cory L Bradford, 59, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to two counts of class-A lewdness involving a child.
Per a plea agreement, the charges were reduced from third-degree felonies, and two class-B misdemeanor lewdness charges were dismissed. According to documents filed with the court, Bradford approached two 13-year-old females in a local store and masturbated in their presence.
Court records show Bradford was convicted in Utah of a similar charge in 1995.

Bradford is set to be sentenced on May 5.
Payden Hunter Hendershot, 21, was set to appear for a preliminary hearing for a pending sexual assault case on March 15.
Hendershot faces two counts of first-degree object rape, two counts of first-degree forcible sodomy, one count of third-degree distribution of a controlled substance and an additional misdemeanor. Authorities allege Hendershot provided controlled substances and sexually assaulted multiple alleged victims.
