The united states has the capacity to evacuate 9,000 people a day, but instead we ve evacuated just 9,000 total in a week. That includes 350 americans who were flown out in the last 24 hours. But that is just a fraction of the 15,000 americans who may be stuck in afghanistan right now. In fact the pentagon admitted yesterday that they are not even sure how many americans are still there. And then there are tens of thousands of afghans also trying to get out of the country, nbc s chief foreign correspondent richard engel has that story.
