Annie’s Dock, built in 1929, once stood at Palm Beach’s northern tip. It was a popular gathering spot that attracted visitors arriving on foot and by boat. The wooden pier was named after Anne Eggleston, a dockmaster who lived in a rickety white-cypress house on the dock. The town of Palm Beach hired her in 1946 for $1 a year to run the dock and live there rent-free. ....
