Where were standing on galveston island is the seawall. It protects the city. We just reached high tide in the last half hour. Theres no beach. This is normally a public beach. You could see the stairs that go down. Not the case today. The water has come up a little bit more. But yesterday there was no beach over. So a lot of beach erosion will be going on. Theyve ordered those voluntary evacuations for the peninsula on the east side of the island. Its a very lowlying area. Water is already covering the road. Officials said we cant get to you if theres a problem, so get out while you can. F ....
