Akar meets Grillo, relays thanks to Macron over France s support for Lebanon and its army
Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zeina Akar, received on Tuesday the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo, accompanied by the first counselor at the embassy, Jean-Francois Guillaume, and François de Ricolfis, with talks touching on bilateral relations.
Minister Akar praised the appreciated and distinguished position of French President Emmanuel Macron, namely in terms of the support provided to Lebanon in general and to the Lebanese army in particular, and the ongoing preparations for the international support conference to be held in June, deeming this a confirmation of France s continuation of its historic affection vis-à-vis Lebanon, people and institutions alike.

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov confirmed late on Thursday to BTA the information that politicians had been wiretapped by two services – State Agency Technical Operations (DATO) and DANS. According to Rashkov, materials are currently being destroyed at the State Agency for National Security (DANS). Among those wiretapped around the elections on April 4 was caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev, the interior minister told bTV.
