N.S. saw highest rates of poverty, food insecurity among provinces in 2022

Between 2021 and 2022, the poverty rate in the province shot up from 8.6 per cent to 13.1 per cent, according to newly released data from Statistics Canada. Nearly 30 per cent of Nova Scotians were also food insecure, the agency said. Both rates are the highest among the provinces.
