welcome back to our continuing coverage of the republican national convention which is taking c place, first night under way right now in milwaukee, wisconsin. this ismi happening, of course, during a frankly sort of insane time in the presidential campaign. and that counts for both campaigns. since joe biden s performance at the first debate came very near to upending his candidacy, president biden has been demonstrating what an energized, fired up biden campaign looks like. he s made about two dozen public appearances including rallies and fund-raisers and interviews. that fire hose of campaigning, a though, stopped instantly after the assassination attempt saturday night against his opponent in the race. since then, joe biden as president has made a number of appearances and public remarks about the assassination attempt. it started with a written statement on saturday, saying he had been briefed on the incident, he was praying for donald trump and his family. saying he ex

actions to protect trump. house minority leader kevin mccarthy setting the stage for the out of thing of liz cheney. a major development on the vaccine front. the question is how soon will adolescents be able to get the coast shot? it s way too early for this! good morning! welcome to way too early. the show that knows the microphone, it s always on. i am kasie hunt on this wednesday, may 5th. we will start with the news. a federal judge blasted former attorney general bill barr in a decision released last night accusing barr of misleading her and congress. the remarks from judge amy berman-jackson came as she ordered the justice department to released the redacted portions of a 2019 memo that was prepared by barr and top doj officials whether president trump should be charged with obstructing the mueller investigation. the justice department at the time withheld the full memo from a watchdog group saying it continued information around an undecided case. how
we begin with the fallout and the consequences of the decision this morning from facebook s oversight board. temporarily upholding the social media s ban on former president trump. the ban is going to have to be revisited within six months as the board criticized what it called a vague and standardless approach to facebook s efforts to address posts from trump that were deemed dangerous and that legitimized violence. and mark zuckerberg hoping this oversight board would clean his hands. the oversight board had another thing to say. here s what the oversight board s administrative director told my colleague hallie jackson. the board has found that the suspension of former president trump was necessary to keep people safe. that the actions of the former president encouraged and legitimized violence and constituted what the board has termed a severe violation of the facebook rules. and the board has also said obviously that an indefinite expense is contrary to what should be c
