Local Boy Scout Completes Eagle Scout Project

(newsDakota.com) – A local Boy Scout has accomplished his goal of collecting clothing donations for the North Dakota State Hospital and has taken steps towards completing his Eagle Scout project. Logan-Ross Motter chose to do a clothing drive for NDSH clients. His initial planning had him considering several projects, including a Food Drive and Pet Adoption Drive, but ultimately believed this fit his interests most and could be of the most benefit to the community and the clients that we serve. “His project plan was to collect clothing donations from the community, launder all donations and deliver them to NDSH,” Elsie Motter, Logan’s mom stated.

Ed Stafford launches survival camping trips in Oxfordshire

A TV explorer is set to launch new camping experiences in Oxfordshire in order to cut the amount of time children spend on screens. Survival expert Ed Stafford - who was the first person to walk the length of the Amazon river - has teamed up with outdoor adventure group Camp Wilderness to map out how the camps will work. In attempts to get families enjoying the outdoors again, the four adventure camps will launch in July, with two of those locations within the county. Both Blenheim Woods and Cornbury Park have been chosen, in addition to camps in Hertfordshire and Kent.

ajohnson@minotdailynews.com Submitted Photo Margaret Huettl is the first female Eagle Scout in the area. For her Eagle Scout Project, she built a gaga ball pit at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot. Margaret Huettl, a 2020 Minot High graduate and a freshman majoring in biology education at Minot State University, just became the first or among the the first young women in the area to completed the work to earn the rank of Eagle Scout through Scouts BSA. The former Boys Scouts of America begin allowing girls to participate a few years ago and Huettl joined a local troop on the first day in 2019 that girls were allowed to join the program.
