Arizona backed a Democratic presidential candidate for the first time in 24 years in 2020, and also voted to send two Democrats to the U.S. Senate for the first time in almost 70 years. WASHINGTON – For years, Democrats have argued that Arizona was about to turn blue, and this year they came closer than they had in decades, winning the presidential race and unseating an incumbent Republican senator.
