The search for missing Australian woman Melissa Caddick has been called off and police say it is unlikely to resume.
Wild weather hampered attempts to find Caddick s remains in the waters off Dover Heights, Sydney this week before divers returned to the scene on Friday.
But the search party was called in after scouring 6000 square metres, meaning the mystery of what happened to the alleged conwoman may never be fully resolved. Nothing was found [on Friday] and, at this stage, police won t be conducting further searches in the area, a NSW Police spokesperson told NCA NewsWire.

Authorities have conducted further searches to determine the chain of events around the Sydney businesswoman’s apparent death, after further remains found on the NSW south coast were determined not to belong to Melissa Caddick.

On Wednesday, NSW Police divers conducted searches off the coast of Dover Heights in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, where Ms Caddick was last seen in November 2020.
The search follows the news that a second set of human remains found on Mollymook Beach in the NSW south coast last Friday night did not belong to the Sydney businesswoman, who is presumed deceased.
