Rich Paul to Release Debut Memoir, 'Lucky Me'

UTA Roc Lit 101, the publishing division of Jay-Z s Roc Nation and an imprint of Random House, announced Wednesday it has acquired the superagent s coming-of-age story. Rich Paul, the sports superagent and the founder and chief executive officer of Klutch Sports Group, is set to release a memoir. Roc Lit 101, the publishing division of Roc Nation the entertainment company founded by Shawn Jay-Z Carter and an imprint of Random House, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Paul’s coming-of-age story,  Lucky Me.  In his book, Paul, who represents some of the NBA s biggest names including LeBron James, Anthony Davis, John Wall, Ben Simmons and Draymond Green, introduces who he was prior to becoming a leading figure in sports. The memoir will chronicle his upbringing in Cleveland, Ohio, his relationships with his family and community, and the lessons he learned while navigating the challenges the city faced at the time.

Trump kept bookshops afloat – but who has the guts to publish his memoir?

It seems unlikely, therefore, that he is also burning the midnight oil to set his presidency down on paper.  But the issue of a Trump presidential memoir has been thrust into the spotlight by a recent open letter, signed by more than 500 American authors and literary professionals, arguing that US publishers should not do book deals with any members of his administration. The letter cites the 6 January’s violent riots at the US Capitol as “uniquely mitigating criterion for publishing houses when considering book deals”.
