beshear. he is holding his news conference. tornado event in the history of our commonwealth. our state was hit by at least four tornadoes. one stayed on the ground in kentucky for at least 200 miles, devastating anything in its path. thousands of homes are damaged, if not entirely destroyed, and it may be weeks before we have final counts on both deaths and levels of destruction. we lost lives in at least eight counties and at least 18 counties suffered damage. as soft this morning, our best count for confirmed deaths, the most accurate count we have, as of this morning, are 64 kentuckyians. remember this is fluid, and the numbers will change and sometimes, they have, thank god, gone down. other times, they ve gone up. it breaks down as follows. 20 in graves, 13 in hopkins, 11 in muilenburg. i think that s been reported as 12. we believe it is 11. 12 in warren. 4 in caldwell. 1 in marshall. 1 in taylor. 1 in fulton. and one in lyon. undoubtedly, there will be more. we be
now having to push through the pain of devastating tornadoes that have brought death and destruction at what should be the most joyous time of the year. towns like bowling green, kentucky. that s what you see there on your screen. they have been flattened. and there are desperate searches through rubble and thrown debris to find people who are missing at this hour, including eight people at a candle factory in mayfield. right now dozens are dead across at least five states. kentucky s governor just said it could be a week before there s a final count for the number of lives lost. he just spoke about who we ve lost so far. 18 are still unidentified. of the ones that we know, the age range is five months to 86 years. an understandably emotional governor who also said that president biden will come to the state in the near future. and any moment now president biden will be briefed on the federal response to these tornadoes which will bring you once it happens. these are torn

State where they were born. meet the press recently visited two counties in pennsylvania that represent both sides of this division. there s densely populated chester county. an affluent suburb of philadelphia with a bustling downtown area and never more than a stone s throw from a starbucks. 70 miles away is sparsely populated schuylkill county, a rural, hillside community and not a starbucks in sight. these two places view having a college degree differently. a college degree will open more doors than without. a lot of the positions that are open right now in the county, you do not need a college degree for. and the numbers tell the story of these two counties. 50% of chester has a bachelors degree. that number is 15% in schuylkill. the median listing price for a home in chester is $380,000 compared to 75,000 in schuylkill and the median household income is 89,000 a year in chester versus 47,000 a year in
