HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Mississippi Power employees donated their time Tuesday for a good cause as they volunteered to renovate a few interior rooms inside the R3SM house located on Buschman Street in Hattiesburg.
Mississippi Power has a long history of giving back to the communities they serve, and the volunteers were busy painting and doing repairs in several areas of the building.
The R3SM house provides a place for out-of-town volunteers to stay while they are in the Pine Belt helping others recovering from natural disasters or other volunteer opportunities.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) -Hattiesburg residents could start seeing many of their streets, avenues and drives receiving new pavement soon.
Hattiesburg city officials released the 2021 paving list for winter and spring which will wrap up a $1.5 million investment for paving 75 miles of the cityâs streets over the past 3 1/2 years.
âInfrastructure has been a top priority during our administration, and once we finish this paving list, we will have hit 75 miles paved in the last three and a half years,â Hattiesburg Mayor Toby Barker said. âWe have also committed ourselves to equity. So, at least $1.5 million will have been spent in each ward by the time this list is completed.
