Two CNRL Contractors Die From COVID-19 Complications, Fort McMurray Sees Small Drop In Active Total

Two contractors for Canadian Natural Resources Limited have died due to complications from COVID-19.
The oil company confirmed both individuals worked for service providers conducting maintenance activities at their Horizon site.
It’s unclear if these individuals lived in the RMWB as Alberta Health doesn’t release personal information on any cases.
These deaths come days after a Suncor contractor also passed away from complications from the virus.

Fort McMurray is seeing a slight drop in active COVID-19 cases.
The province also announced on Thursday 2,211 new cases in the province over the past 24 hours. ....

Fort McMurray Surpasses 1,500 Active COVID-19 Cases, 38 Individuals Currently Being Treated At NLRHC

Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases is continuing to rise.
The province also announced on Tuesday 1,743 new cases in the province over the past 24 hours.
There are currently 23,623 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 198,653 positive tests.
There are also 671 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 150 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 144 new cases and 93 recoveries in the past 24 hours which puts the active total at 1,509.
The rural areas added four new cases and one recovery, raising the total of active cases to 49. ....

COVID Vaccine Eligibility In Region Lowered To 18, Fort McMurray Adds 140 New Cases

People 18 and older can soon get their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Premier Jason Kenney announced on Monday they’re expanding eligibility in the RMWB and Banff.
Along with the Janssen vaccines, which have been delayed, 20,000 additional doses will be sent to the two areas to help combat the rise in cases.
These individuals will be eligible starting Tuesday for all vaccines with the MacDonald Island Park clinic still accepting walk-ins for just the AstraZeneca.
All other vaccines will need an appointment.
Also, teachers across the province can get their first shot. ....

Fort McMurray Sees 97 New COVID-19 Cases, 69 Recoveries

The active total of COVID-19 cases in Fort McMurray is continuing to rise.
The province announced on Sunday 1,731 new cases in the province over the past 24 hours.
There are currently 22,920 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 194,898 positive tests.
There are also 648 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 155 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 97 new cases and 69 recoveries in the past 24 hours which puts the active total at 1,378.
The rural areas added seven new cases, raising the total of active cases to 39. ....
