Member of Northern Monkeys explorer group visits school to talk about historical finds

A member of an exploration group named the Northern Monkeys went to a school to tell the children about what he and his pals have discovered while they have been out exploring as a follow up to the schools involvement in the trout release. Bruce Lee-Knowles visited Springfield School in Burnley where his children are being schooled to speak with the year six pupils about items the Northern Monkeys group have found on their adventures. He along with Damion Whitton and Chris Kipper Taylor who make up the trio are most famous for clearing a huge amount of fly tipped waste from a large woodland area by a lay-by on Bacup Road, their efforts of which made national news.

A TRIO of Burnley men have been out again, helping to clear a flytipping site of waste. Damion Whitton, Bruce-Lee Knowles and Chris Taylor, who call themselves Northern Monkeys, became famous after clearing a site near their home town in October last year which had made national headlines. The group are currently clearing a cold war bunker just past Hawks Stones on Kebs Road where they believe people have come to dump asbestos and rubbish over the years. Damion, 38, said that when they arrived, the site was flooded and they have since pumped out the water and has a group member fix the water pump to stop the bunker from flooding again.
