You might think photos could hardly do 2020 justice, but Alabama photographers preserved an unforgettable year in stunning fashion.
Marred by a deadly pandemic that has killed nearly 4,400 people in our state, this year saw too few glimpses of what we might remember as normal life. COVID-19
is 2020. At least that’s how most of us see it. It’s impacted literally every person on the planet, let alone Alabama. And it touched nearly every major story and image we captured.
The pandemic compounded with the death of George Floyd that sparked nationwide protests and rallies for social justice during the summer gave us images we’ll never forget, even if we wish we could. In spite of it, life went on. Sports, graduations, restaurants, churches, elections and other aspects of our daily lives attempted to carry on. Queen of Virginia and Glory Days Grill will be giving out free turkey lunches and sides, ready to heat, on Thursday Dec 17 from 1-4 pm at the Glory Days Grill in Lorton. They just want to help out folks who are having a hard time due to the pandemic, but everyone s welcome. Drive up only. Lorton location only.

Springfield Pearls Donate Over 100 Books To Title-1 School
Just in time for black history month, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Springfield Pearls Interest Group donated 135 minority inspired books to Crestwood Elementary School in Springfield, Virginia.
Over the past week, numerous stolen items have been recovered and returned to their owners.
On Sunday, Nov. 29, the DeKalb County Sheriffâs Office answered a burglary and theft call on County Road 296 in the Dawson Community. A tractor, tools and clothing items were reported stolen. During the investigation, these items were located and recovered by the DeKalb County Sheriffâs Office deputies and investigators at a residence on County Road 328 in addition to a stolen car hauler trailer.
On the following day, a search warrant was executed by DeKalb County investigators and investigators with the Rainsville Police Department. Numerous stolen tools that were stolen from Rainsville were recovered.
