Important job i ever had. the chief of staff adopted the president s latest attacks on the press directed specifically at nbc news over a couple of damaging report in the last week, first that the secretary of state rex tillerson openly disparaged the president, referring to him as a moron. and then that the president wanted a ten-fold increase in the u.s. nuclear arsenal. the president reacted with what was even, for him, a fairly astonishing assault on the core concept of the first amendment. threatening to revoke the network s broadcast license, which doesn t exist by the way, and shut down unwelcome coverage. today his own chief of staff took his own swipe at the press. my only frustration, with all due respect to everyone in the room, is when i come to work in the morning and read about things i allegedly said or things that mr. trump allegedly said or people who are going to be fired or whatever. and it s just not true. it is astounding to me how much is misreport the. ....
Raised so many concerns constructively and they did not respond to my complaints. i asked them, the first question, are we legal in egypt, is our broadcast license in place. the answer was, yes, it is. aimportantly we found in court that the broadcast license had been revoked days before i started the job. that made the situation much worse in court. it gave our captors more fire power. and then it gets even worse for me. the network sued egypt while we were in the cage and their own lawyer warned them. they rejected his warnings, so he quit in court, confirmed the accusations to the prosecutor. and i had written the network as well, don t sue egypt while we re in the cage. they didn t listen to us. it made our situation worse. that is also one example of how ....

Newspapers. given the choices and people providing it, there s no reason for the fcc to inject itself. do you see this as the government attempting to pressure news organizations? i m not sure the intent. a lot of folks i have heard from in the industry are telling me that they are worried about the inadvertent coercion that might happen if they are just asking questions. if you are holding a broadcast license, you are not going to feel like it s voluntary if you have to answer the questions in this study. it s not the fcc doing it. they hired outside people doing this. we have to spend money if it s going to happen. frankly, i can t imagine any news room letting a government agent come in and do that. if the fcc hire as contractor, the american taxpayers are paying for the spies to come ....
