Burlington, IA- The Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees has announced the hiring of the next Library Director. The board has announced that Brittany R Jacobs has been hired for the role. Jacobs is currently the Manager of Outreach and Program Services for the library and came to Burlington after serving in public library systems in Denver, Colorado and Naperville, Illinois. Jacobs will take over as director on October 3rd. Originally from Chicagoland, Jacobs received her Masters's of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois. She has authored and illustrated several children's books, serves on the Editorial Review Board for the Afterschool Matters academic journal, and recently completed the Iowa Library Association Leadership Institute.
