THERE is no clear direction ahead for the future of the Ipswich Transit Centre, which has sat abandoned and derelict since it was flooded ten years ago.
The state-owned asset is an unused eyesore in the cityâs CBD and residents are eager to see new life breathed into it.

It is understood simply demolishing the facility is out of the question as it would cost tens of millions of dollars to do so.

Brisbaneâs âugliest buildingâ has been torn down to make way for a new underground rail network and stadium.
The Brisbane Transit Centre on Roma Street was ripped apart, floor by floor, during the past 12 months, leaving a void on the edge of the CBD.
Machines will now start digging to build a railway station 27 metres underground, McConnel MP Grace Grace said.
âBrisbaneâs ugliest building has officially made way for Brisbaneâs new âGrand Centralâ,â Ms Grace said.
