North West Region: Security Operations Seize Equipment From Gunmen
North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique and Security Chiefs salute population for collaboration in efforts towards a return to normalcy
Defense and Security Chiefs of the 5th Joint Military and Gendarmerie Region on November 22, 2018 presented to North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique, some arms and equipment seized from unidentified gunmen during separate special security operations in the neighbourhoods of Bali, Mezam Division and Abuh, Boyo Division. Among the lot presented in Bamenda were locally fabricated guns, machetes, knives, bows and arrows, solar plates, some three motorcycles, mobile telephone sets, sim cards etc. It emerged from the event that the special operations in the early hours of Wednesday and Thursday, November 21st and 22nd were inspired by ongoing killings, burnings, kidnappings, destruction of bridges etc in the backdrop of the socio- political crisis rocking the North West and South
