BRIDGEPORT â A more appealing train station came one step closer to reality at Tuesday s Bridgeport Borough Council meeting.
Council unanimously approved a resolution to authorize a grant application for a Montco 2040 grant for the Bridgeport Train Station Beautification Project.
Borough Manager Keith Truman noted that the project would cost about $226,000, and that municipalities are required to provide a match of 20 percent, which comes out to $45, 271 from the borough.

The borough is requesting 181,086 in county grant funding.
Upgrades to the train station will include new safety measures of curb and sidewalk installations, landscaping and large themed murals, which Truman suggested could create an opportunity for collaboration between elected officials and the community regarding potential imagery.
