This mornings first meeting of the Water Quality task force is set for 9 am at city hall. The group was put together to study how to make sure milwaukees Drinking Water stays safe. According to the city. The water itself is clean and ok to drink. But in some older homes those built pre1951. Lead pipes are being used to transport water from city water properties. And then from Property Line to the water meter. That lead can dissolve and seep into the water. The city notified about 70 thousand such homeowners of the risk earlier this year.
