9 & 10 News May 3, 2021 Organizations across the state got some extra funding for suicide prevention programs Monday morning. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, along with their foundation and several non-profits, presented $650,000 in funding. The Mid-Michigan Health Foundation received some of that money, which will help fund programs in Clare, Gladwin, Ogemaw and Gratiot Counties. Health providers say they’re seeing record numbers of teens and children struggling with anxiety and depression. They say it’s critical to reach them and get them the help they need. “As an FQHC our mission is to provide health care services for all people in the Upper Great Lakes region, regardless of their ability to pay and that’s something, the message we want to get out there and that makes us a more warm and open environment for them to walk in and seek help,” said Brian Foreman of the Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center. ....
