It’s strike three for DA Eastern Cape legislature leader Nqaba Bhanga after he drove into the back of fellow party member and Buffalo City Metro councillor Fred Pohl’s car while on a municipal oversight visit at Qonce on Friday. Bhanga has now been involved in three vehicle accidents with varying degrees of severity, and there are signs senior DA leaders may no longer be enamoured with him.
Buffalo City is one of the most “high-burden” municipalities in the province when it comes to tuberculosis infections, health MEC Nomakhosazana Meth said in Dimbaza, Qonce, on Tuesday. Monday’s long-awaited Mandela funeral scandal trial at the Bhisho high court against politicians, former Buffalo City Metro officials and businessmen was relegated to the building’s corridors after an electricity outage left the courtroom in the dark. This forced a further delay of the trial, set to run between April and June, as it was postponed to Tuesday by judge Igna Stretch.
