Fairview Township Police honors 10 officers for their work

Fairview Township Police honors 10 officers for their work York Dispatch The Fairview Township Police Department celebrated National Police Week by recognizing 10 of its officers during an annual award ceremony recently. Their work was highlighted May 8 at the Fairview Township Fire Station as exceptional acts of police service last year, according to a department news release. Officer Brandon Yeager received the Officer of the Year award for outstanding performance as a police officer in 2020, according to the release. He also received  awards for arresting four individuals involved with a robbery last May and performing CPR on an individual.  York County Commissioner Ron Smith was the guest speaker, according to the release.

Police: Prostitute who robbed john in York County tried to blackmail PA Bar Association president York Dispatch A prostitute accused of trying to blackmail the Pennsylvania Bar Association president with a recording of them having sex is also accused of setting up a would-be sex customer to be robbed at gunpoint in a York County motel. Emily Ann Merth, 25, who is currently being held in Allentown s Lehigh County Prison, is awaiting arraignment on her Luzerne County charges of sexual extortion, theft by extortion and promoting prostitution, according to court records. All three offenses are misdemeanors. Luzerne County attorney David Schwager, 58, of Kingston, will be charged with the third-degree misdemeanor of patronizing a prostitute. He has not yet been arraigned, court records state. That will likely happen at the time of his preliminary hearing, scheduled for June 15.
