Eastleigh s Xelabus to return more services to normal again A BUS company is set to return more services to normal following the easing of restrictions.
Eastleigh based, Xelabus says more of its services will return to normal as of May 30 with restrictions due to be eased further. Service X9 and X10 which both serve Bishops Waltham from Eastleigh or Southampton will revert to hourly weekday services and every two hours on Saturdays. Meanwhile, shoppers wanting to travel to Eastleigh on Sundays will be able to catch busses running from Hedge End, West End, Velmore and Boyatt Wood. Gareth Blair, Managing Director said “We have wanted to return our services to normal as soon as possible but have been closely monitoring the lifting of restrictions”

TENS of thousands of residents have now had their first Covid-19 vaccine dose in a Hampshire borough. A total of 36,785 people in Eastleigh had received their first vaccination as of February 21 with 21 million vaccines given out across the country. Over 60, 55, and 50 year olds have now started to be invited for their jabs as the government aims to offer everyone in the top nine priority groups a vaccine by April 15. Whilst the vaccine rollout continues and the government roadmap is set to begin on March 8, Eastleigh Borough Council has reminded its residents and businesses to continue to follow restrictions at each stage.
Mitesh Patel, from Medicine Clinic Ltd, the company that owns Boyatt Pharmacy said: “It’s really important that people don’t ignore letters from their GP or the NHS inviting them for a vaccine. Make sure you sign up and get vaccinated.” Paul Holmes MP praised all staff and vulunteers working at vaccination centre, saying that they are “saving lives and protecting families”. “The progress made with our vaccine rollout is truly remarkable. “I’d also like to congratulate Mitesh and the team from Boyatt Pharmacy on delivering their 10,000th vaccination this week, a fantastic achievement. “It is vital that that all communities, and especially our BAME communities, get vaccinated when they are called. The vaccine is safe.”
