The Boy Scouts of America faces a deluge of sexual abuse claims, with the number of the claims now surpassing 82,000. The 111-year-old organization has contemplated selling about 60 of its hard-earned Norman Rockwell’s portraits to use the proceeds to make settle sexual abuse cases. By selling the pieces of Rockwell’s art, the organization promised to make a $300 million settlement, during a reorganization plan that was filed this week in a federal bankruptcy court in Delaware.
During the reorganization plan, Boy Scouts listed down about 60 pieces of art, some of which are named, “The Right Way,” “On My Honor,” and “I Will Do My Best.” Most of these paintings are oil on canvas. ....
