Boothbay, Southport take hardware in Lighted Fire Truck Parade

Fourteen decorated fire trucks and rescue vehicles and a Lewiston Police Department car containing grand marshals LPD’s Chief David St. Pierre and Lt. Trevor Campbell, passed by the hundreds of people gathered along the route of the 2023 Lighted.

New state laws could have local impact

Hundreds of new Maine laws went into effect Oct. 25 on topics ranging from hotly debated healthcare issues to housing. The laws were enacted 90 days after the end of the 131st legislative session, which also approved the state’s $445 million budget.

UPDATE: On Oct. 2, at approximately 6:17 p.m., Boothbay Harbor Police, Boothbay Harbor Fire Department, Boothbay Fire Department, and Boothbay Region EMS responded to a severe accident on Townsend Avenue by the Boothbay Harbor and Boothbay town line.
